Stephen Mercer
Founder & Owner, Vital Web Consultants
Top Local Trades was created by Stephen Mercer, the owner of Vital Web Consultants. Stephen has been helping businesses with their sales and marketing for over 25 years.
Having helped so many trade businesses over the years, Stephen created Top Local Trades to help top-notch trades get the exposure and the support they need to grow — without cost or obligation.
Stephen knows that most trade businesses often get the small stuff wrong — and that fixing it can make a massive difference. That's why Top Local Trades pairs a free directory with genuine, practical support to help local trades turn enquiries into revenue.

Our Mission
Finding a great local trade shouldn't be difficult. We're building a national directory that makes it simple to discover, compare and connect with trusted Australian trade businesses — while giving those businesses a fair way to receive genuine local enquiries.
We've been operating since 2024, covering every Australian state and territory — from the Gold Coast and Sydney to Melbourne, Perth and beyond — so no matter where you are, you can find a trusted local trade near you.
Important: Top Local Trades is a directory platform. We do not independently vet every listed business. Always verify licences, insurance and credentials before engaging a tradesperson.
How We Help You Find Trusted Trades
We focus on transparency and verifiable signals so you can compare local trades with confidence.
Verified contact details
Every listed business has a real, checkable phone number and address. We confirm the business exists before it appears in search results.
Genuine Google ratings
Ratings and reviews are pulled directly from each business's verified Google profile — never self-reported or editable by the business.
Owner-claimed listings
Businesses that claim their listing prove ownership before they can edit details, so the information you see is maintained by the people who run the business.
Real service areas
Listings are mapped to the regions and suburbs a business actually services, so you only see trades that will come to you.
Coverage Area
Top Local Trades lists businesses across all of Australia. Select your state to find trusted local trade businesses near you:
